JUMP WOMAN (2019)

This Independent film aims to spark conversation around representation and celebrate the power and passion female role models bring to the world of sports to coincide with International Women’s Day.

Directed by Melbourne filmmaker Bonnie Moir, the story takes us on a journey to an alternate reality, set in the mid-90s where the biggest sporting star in the world is Michelle Jordan. In an era of video tapes and compact discs, Michelle dominates the basketball, sporting and media landscape like no other, demanding the admiration and attention of her peers and inspiring a legion of fans.

The images we see, the words we hear, the heroes we celebrate. It all has an impact on the way that we interpret our place in the world. In 'Jumpwoman's world girls have role models just as big as the boys. If visibility begets representation what would the world look like if Michael Jordan were a woman?
